Overview
When using the Viber platform through SMSBAT, your pricing depends on the type of profile you use. Viber offers several profile types to suit different business needs, primarily:
- Viber Business Messages
- Viber Business Calls
- Viber Chatbots
Understanding how you are charged—and what fees apply—is essential to managing your communication costs effectively.
1. Viber Business Messages
Viber Business Messages allow companies to send transactional, promotional, or conversational messages to users.
Message Types
- Transactional Messages: Used for essential alerts, account updates, shipping notifications, and OTPs.
- Promotional Messages: Used for marketing campaigns, discounts, and proactive sales outreach.
- Conversational Messages: Initiated by the user. If a user messages the business, a 24-hour conversational session opens. All messages sent by the business within this 24-hour window are charged at the conversational rate (which is often lower or free depending on the region).
Minimum Monthly Fee (MMF)
A Minimum Monthly Fee (MMF) is a required baseline payment to keep an active, verified Viber Business Profile. If your monthly message spend exceeds the MMF, you only pay for the messages. If your spend is below the MMF, you pay the MMF. Note: The MMF varies by the registered country of your business profile.

Viber Business Calls allow users to call businesses directly from within the Viber app, for free, anywhere in the world. It provides a seamless, toll-free experience for your customers to reach your support or sales teams.

Viber Business Calls are typically charged on a per-minute or per-call basis, rather than per message.

Like Business Messages, an active Business Calls profile may require an MMF.

3. Viber Chatbots
Viber Chatbots run purely on conversational sessions. They are ideal for automated customer service flows, lead generation logic, or interactive applications.
Session-based Pricing
Chatbots operate entirely on a session model. 1. User-Initiated Sessions: When a user sends a message to the bot, a session opens. The bot has a 24-hour window to reply. 2. Business-Initiated Sessions: When the bot proactively messages a user outside of an active session wrapper.
The exact pricing for these sessions depends on the destination country of the user.
